Boo at the Zoo

I'm back to continuing my blogging. If you haven't read my most recent blog on why you haven't heard from me all month, click here.

Now that I'm back to it and still catching up, here is our Boo at the Zoo trip! We recently became zoo members because of how many times we like to go to the zoo a year and it's already paid for itself!

Boo at the Zoo is Knoxville's biggest Halloween event! It is a special ticketed event that gets you into the zoo where there is trick or treating, fun games, a dance party, and Halloween fun! This year it was for three weeks; every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5:30pm-8pm. Tickets are only $8 a person (kids under 2 are free) and $6 a person for zoo members. We went on a Sunday night and got there right when the gate opens. The crowds weren't bad at all. You don't have to stay for the entire time either. We were done with everything by around 7pm.

Since the event starts at 5:30pm, most of the animals are not out for viewing. People will volunteer their time to come dressed up in costumes to be there for photo ops or pass out candy at the candy stations.  There was a candy trail you could walk along that were sponsored by different companies or businesses. I think there were about 20 booths and everyone (even adults) were able to get candy and coupons!

If you are looking for Halloween family fun during the month of October, I highly recommend going to Boo at the Zoo, this is something that my family will do every year now!
